Tips on Horses
Well being of your horses The well being of your horses depends upon having a clean living area. To maintain a clean space for your horses, move manure and rubbish as it accumulates. Get organized, have your cleaning tools, shovels, wheelbarrows and any other tools that you may use accessible.
Training your horse Train your horses to come to you when you call. One useful tip that we have found is to feed your horse dry bread. Make sure it is mold free. We have found that our horses love this and it has made their coats shinier and more glossy. Giving your horses bread is more beneficial than giving them carrots because of the nutrients from the bread grains.
Buying a used saddle When buying a used saddle, make sure you look under it and ensure that the lining is free of holes and/or excessive wear. Check the stirrup leathers to see if they are brittle, torn or if the holes are streched. If either the stirrup leathers or the lining need to be replaced it may be to costly.
Regular Deworming If your horse isn't on a regular deworming schedule it's time to start one. A good deworming program will help your horse get the most from his food.
